Two rooms.
One pass.

On the record

Diamond Hills sits behind Lumbini Avenue, on the road half of Gachibowli uses to get to work. Almost nobody turns in. We took the room anyway, and named it for the problem.

The front is a cafe: beans from Chikmagalur, a grinder running from the moment the shutter goes up, filter coffee that argues for the steel tumbler.

The back is a kitchen with a longer memory — dum biryani sealed at the order, Andhra gravies on Guntur chilli, a Sichuan wok that arrived because a cook wanted it and stayed because the room did.

They share six metres of pass. Your coffee and your biryani come from the same place. That is unusual, and it is the reason people stay four hours.
